Offered through the Willamette Kayak and Canoe Club, this team-taught course provides hands-on training of the most important safety skills for river paddlers. You must be a WKCC member to participate, but at $12 per year, you already should be!
Perfect as a first swift-water safety class or as a brush-up of your safety skills, the two-day, non-certification workshop provides land- and water-based training. The program covers: whitewater safety gear/equipment, throw bag skills, knots, swift-water crossing, swift-water swimming, mechanical advantage techniques, and avoidance of river obstacles.
LCCC Scholarships: The LCCC offers three $50 scholarships to this valuable class to the first three members who request them. Look for Club announcements for when you can apply for a scholarship. Scholarships are paid upon your completion of the class.
