Teresa Rogerson returns for a second talk about paddling fitness, joined by Lisa Marie of McCall Pilates.
As a follow up to the Fitness for Form and Injury Prevention talk, this time, instead of talking about exercises we ought to be doing, we'll spend our time doing them. All you need is a yoga mat (or similar) and a stretchy resistance band—or a bath towel if you don’t have a band. If you want to optimize your health so that you can paddle for the rest of your life, there is sure to be a gem in this class for you.
About the Presenters
Teresa Rogerson aka “Tree” spoke on April 13 about bodily imbalances that influence our ability to paddle. She referenced masters of movement who've informed her studies in massage and surf-champion self-care. Tree has represented the U.S. 3 times in the World Surf Kayaking Championships and was the first woman to compete in the notorious Green River Race in North Carolina. She’s a ACA L4 Surf Kayak Instructor.
Lisa Marie owns & operates McCall Pilates and teaches a popular Pilates for Paddlers course. She has been an athlete since middle school as a runner (track and cross country) as well as competing on the Oregon State crew team. She has been teaching pilates and mindful movement in McCall since 2013. She’s a Certified Balanced Body/Physical Mind PIlates instructor and Ace Personal Trainer.
Both women are avid whitewater paddlers.
